11. The ShiftThe days following the kidnap attempt were thankfully peaceful for Ryan. Monday was a Bank Holiday, which meant there was no school. This turned out to be fortunate for him as he discovered on the Sunday that he was a bit of lightweight when it came to alcohol. A couple of beers, it seemed, were all it took to put him well on the path to being drunk. Thankfully, Ben had noticed the state his friend was getting in and had intervened before Ryan had gotten too drunk. 10. The AftermathTry it a little higher,” Ryan said holding the punching bag, “and don’t bend the wrist.”   
“Like this?” Ben asked lightly tapping the bag.   
Ryan nodded. “That’s it; if you bend your wrist when you punch you could do it in.” The younger boy repeated the movement several times, alternating between his left and right fists. After a few practice punches, Ryan told him to put some force behind the blows. Ben paused and punched the bag hard twice. “Try putting your whole body into the punch.” Ben nodded and threw all of his weight into one punch, shoving the bag back hard 10. The Aftermath

The Death of IraThe Death of Ira   
 
      The boy walked down the lonely corridor of his house. Walls strewn with the trophies and medals of his father, and a special shrine built for his dead mother lay tucked away in a corner. He stopped to kneel and say a prayer of thanks and blessing at the shrine before continuing onwards into the living room where his father sat in a leather chair. He saw the pictures on screen, of war, riots and violence in the city but did not know why it was happening. His father heard his breathing and turned around “What is it son?”

Drugs are Baaddd.She saw herself, as she slumped  
In the bathroom stall, the needle in her arm.  
The liquid bliss running through her veins  And she felt nothing but shame.  
The euphoria that pounded her system changed,  To hatred, loathing and disgust.  Of herself, her weakness and her dependence.  
Of the filth she pumped into herself.  She clawed at her arms, trying to get it out.  Spilling her blood on the dirty floor.  Trying to spill her pain.  
Her disgust rose to her eyes, and streaked her face.  And she grabbed the needle, plunging it deep.  Pushing it further into her chest, she fel Drugs are Baaddd.

WOAH!!! Boy has it been a long time. Sincerest apologies for the inactivity (is that a word?) of the club but we are now up and running!

Welcome to 2009 my friends and this year I shall hope to actually be consistent with this club. In light of that ~Lerradi and I have decided to take on two new administrators,details below. :)

News Article

This months news article: the topic from the last post was fantasy, so we'll keep that one going. Remember, if you submit a news article piece the subect must be 'news article' so that we can sort our mail. NOTE: you do not have to submit it in our gallery first. If it isnt in the gallery just let us know and we will take care of it.

Anyone who has news article themes and/or suggestions just let us know.

Administrators

~Lerradi and I were originally going to keep just the two admins however, evidently we lack time to be 100% consistent and obviously that isn;t exactly fair on our members so here we are.

We are going to take on two new administrators. One will recieve the club password and will take on tasks such as submissions, membership requests and handling the unwantedf favourites we recieve on the occasion.

The second will not recieve a password however their job is to scout DA and invite literary minds to our club to share their talent.

To apply send us a note with 'Admin' as the subject. On the first line of the note please state whether you would like to be 'Admin 1', the admin who recieves the password, or 'Admin 2'.

Then state why you would like to be an administrator, if you are admin of another club, if you are a founder of another club, a list of all your DA accounts if you have more than one and a list of the clubs you are a member of.
